My Year-Long Africa Project

I won't reiterate information from earlier posts, but I'm newly fascinated with Africa and the various countries and their people. I'm not sure what got me going, but now I've decided to make this a year-long project to read both fiction and nonfiction set in Africa. Hopefully I'll find memoirs, biographies, nature nonfiction, & journalist reporting, with less time on fiction (unless it contains accurate history and geography of its location).

NY Public Library Most-Checked Out Books

Most Checked-Out Books from NY Public Library Systerm - NPR
Of course this is just calculating the stats from a pocket of readers in the U.S. but it is fun to read the list. The most-checked out book? A children's book! But I won't spoil the surprise. You'll have to read it yourself :)

Enjoy reading! My best, Cleo
p.s. I haven't been totally "present" while blogging here lately. I was sick for 2 weeks with a virus that seemed like the flu but with no fever (I got a flu shot, but we all know they aren't always effective). Yesterday was my first day feeling fine in this New Year. Stay safe out there folks; there's plenty of germs to go around.

Back Open for Business

Be back with you soon! I'm going to revamp my format here and am still brainstorming!

Okay, sorry for confusion. I was really not feeling the "busy" format of my blog so I had to redo the design. I also have begrudgingly added "and more" to my blog name because, after the initial excitement of having a blog laser-focused on one or two genres, I decided to relax and open this up to discussion of any books. I'm now eclectic! Hope to chat soon...

Enjoy reading! My best, Cleo

Sunday Salon #2

@ Deb's Readerbuzz
My second time signing up with Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon!
So, a busy week for me and the family, but everything turned out well.  I skipped around in my large "At-hand TBR", not because I didn't like them, but more about the mood I was in and what attracted me next. It's the reason I don't like to project a reading list, excepting listing new arrivals to the blog and saying I'd read them soon. I don't rate books here since I'm not really a reviewer, but I do at Goodreads for the sake of helping out the authors whom I enjoy reading.
